[PLEASE NO EXCHANGES WITH FRANCE, EUROPE, AUSTRALIA. Thank you!] TripAdvisor award and Flipkey award. We are in a spectacular natural setting on a one hectare property. The bungalows are all made of coconut wood, bamboo and thatch and fine woods. There are four rooms enclosed in glass with attached jungle shower bathrooms for three of them. The mattresses are very comfortable with fine sheets. The four rooms open on to a large wooden deck with coral trees. There are 2 dining tables and chairs and lounge chairs on the deck. The vista from this deck is fantastic! Views of Mount Agung and Mount Batur on clear days, expansive rice fields and river gorge below. There are natural healing springs on the property and and lush waterfalls. A river walk which leads to a plunge pool - naturally spring fed. The springs plunge pool sits opposite some waterfalls above the river. We have a helpful staff: concierge, housekeepers, cook, gardeners, driver, a maintenance and security staff. Our assistant can arrange your outings, tours, or help with any information you need, etc. Kitchen staff are trained in healthy food preparation (incl raw). We are known for our excellent and unique food. Much of it comes from our organic gardens. There is a central kitchen, office and laundry separate from the guest houses. You may order from the menu or prepare your own food. We are located a few kilometers from the Ubud town center, renowned for its spas, restaurants, hotels, markets, craftspeople, musical and dance performances, artisans of all sorts, etc. It is about a 30 minute walk to Ubud center through the sacred monkey forest or 5 min. by car.

A larger house is on the one hectare (about 2 1/2 acre) property across from these.

High speed Internet.

No smoking and no cats. We love them, but my daughter is allergic to cats. We have a German Shepherd watch dog on the premises in a large fenced area, but he does not come near the houses.

For the exchange we ask that a housekeeper be available at least the day we leave, at the very least (for a short exchange of 3 days, for example). And for a longer exchange, then housekeeping at least 1-2 times a week at no charge to us, as we provide amazing full service daily housekeeping for you. :-)

"To Farah, and all future guests, We loved the Springs. We have so many memories from our 2 week stay. We are so fortunate to have stayed here. The Springs by far is the most peaceful, beautiful, calming place to stay, not to mention, quite romantic. The meals were delicious (especially watermelon gazpacho and pancakes with palm syrup), the staff friendly and helpful (Thank you Ibu Jero dn Ibu Desa!) and the infinity pool - heavenly! Also our day trips (snorkeling, shopping in Ubud, dolphin watching, bicycling) were extremely fun. Our driver, Nyoman Kada, was an angel. He's very knowledgeable, accommodating and helpful. Please do consider using him. You will not regret it! (Phone: +62 361 974 678; sell: 085 237 555 222) Other Highlights:
1. JFC - Java Fried Chicken - Yummy!
2. Bali Tree Tops
3. Bali Bike Baik (cycling company)
4. Siam Sally Thai Food - great!
5. Spa Hati - wonderful affordable spa treatments and a non-profit benefiting school!
6. Relaxing with a good book and a lime mint drink on the patio deck of the Springs.

"What a magical place away from the busy Ubud centre. It is so beautiful, friendly and relaxing with wonderful food. We have spent a week in Sanur and 3 days here. Wish it was longer. For a number of our days we used a guide, Made of Bali by Nature. He can also take you on bicycle rides, treks and tours. He is a lovely, gentle knowledgeable man. His business is fairly new. We highly recommend him. He has a website" bali by nature" and phone 087861119118. Our favorite temple was Besakih especially as there were ceremonies on. I'm sure we will return 0 We have loved our time here." Asche family, Brisbane, Australia. June 30, 2010

"I came here to celebrate my parents 30 years of marriage. It's a paradise, the swimming pool, surroundings, the views all fantastic! Also the service here is great. When I walked back from the pool, towels were ready. When I came back in the night, Michelle had already turned on the air-con. It's really like a 5-star hotel. I and my parents enjoyed here for 3 days as we then needed to move to explore other areas tof Bali. Thanks for all the help you have given me. We will be back again!! Highly recommended here for honeymoon! Nicole and her family members, Shanghai, PRC. May 18, 2010

"The Springs is a truly magical place. The property is located in a small village outside of Ubud, a lovely 30 minute walk or 10 minute drive to town. It is a retreat in the true sense of the word. The property is private with stunning views of the rice fields. Each of the 3 bungalows are authentic, beautifully decorated, with magnificent attached outdoor bathrooms. They are connected by a large expanse of decking with gorgeous landscaping. One unique feature is the natural spring fed pool constructed out of a boulder just above the river. To soak here is the closest I've come to "the perfect place" All around you are rice fields, waterfalls and the sound of the river. Food is available and I would recommend that you eat here often as the food is fresh, organic and wonderfully creative.Even my husband, a meat and potatoes guy, loved the food. Some of our best meals in Bali were eaten here overlooking these amazing views. The local people who work on the property are friendly and eager to make your stay comfortable and the family that live in a separate home on the premises are perfect hosts. They are from the United States and were happy to not only share information about the interesting history and construction of this property but included us in some wonderful family outings that gave us a richer understanding of the culture of Bali. The other wonderful aspect about our stay was a daily walk around the village. Although few people spoke English, they were all eager to communicate with us. We witnessed daily life: were invited into homes, took digital pictures which the children loved, even played billiards at the open air and always busy "pool hall' We loved our stay and would recommend it without reservation." Ruth and Chuck, Santa Barbara, CA (October 2009)

"A splendid accommodation and setting! You have provided a feeling of "Old Bali" in a modern, fast-paced world." Barb and Lorne L. Vancouver, Canada (December 17, 2009)
"My family and I had one of our greatest holidays ever @ The Springs in Ubud. We loved Bali, we loved Ubud and we loved the house and surroundings @ The Springs in Ubud. The house is simple luxury in truly green surroundings, just what we needed coming from Dubai. The view of the green green rice fields and the river gorge can't be described - have to be experienced.
The house was kept very nice and clean through out our stay and the staff was very friendly and beautiful people. Also the food we were served was delicious and healthy. The house is located a bit out of the centre of Ubud but in walking distance if you do not have young kids - with the kids we hired a taxi.....which was also very easy and convenient. We highly recommend The Springs @ Ubud for people who wishes to experience true nature in simple luxury on the beautiful island of Bali. We would return to The Springs @ Ubud at first given occasion." Blum Family, Dubai (Sept 2009)

“Wonderful, wonderful stay! We look forward to our next visit. Thank you to the Kimball family! Caroline A. and Peter R., Beijing, China (January 1, 2009)

"This was a beautiful place in a beautiful location run by beautiful people. The air was fresh and sweet, the spring was healing, and the food was delicious and alive. I would highly recommend this place for anyone to stay, but especially raw foodies like us! Thank you for this experience." Jessie K., Perth Australia. (Sept.14, 2009)

“The staff here has been wonderful, - helpful and friendly. Love the setting – the spring pool, rice fields and fireflies. Yummy food! Thank you Kimball family! Gwendy K. and J. N. from Santa Barbara California. (Oct. 20, 2008)

"Wow! What an amazing experience. This is truly a place where you can relax, heal and release all of your worries. Take a morning dip in the spring and you will feel refreshed, revitalized and alive. The food is scrumdidlyumptious, with the fresh papaya my favorite. The Kimball family are truly gentle spirits and the staff here are so friendly and nice. Definitely get Pak Guru to take you across the springs to see the rice fields and meet some local people. But beware, it is tough and slippery to trek in places (which for us made it even more fun)." Justin S. C., Perth, Australia. (Sept. 14, 2009)

“It was lovely and lucky to come upon you all and your set-up. I trust ... and expect that your vision here will continue to happily and fulfillingly come about, as it already has, for the benefit of all involved … I’m so happy to see people promoting healthy ways in this astonishing Bali ... Best Wishes.” Benedict G.. New Zealand and Britain (June 2009)

"We've thoroughly enjoyed our time in this beautiful spot, exploring Ubud and relaxing on the deck." April G. and John P., Berkeley, California (August 2, 2009)

"Bravo pour cette jolie maison et ce site si apaisant." Dorothée P, Paris, France. (August 2009)

"We have enjoyed our time here SO much. It is just a beautiful place you have. We will definitely come back in a couple of years. Now we are looking forward to spending somedays in the Bloo Lagoon house. Thanks." Esben B. and family, Dubai and Denmark. (Sept. 19, 2009)

Over ons

We are a family of five. My husband, Dan, is an inventor and computer software technology developer. I (Farah) am a writer and designer and founder of the International Peace Project which began in Santa Barbara, California. Our daughter (Sage) is 19 and our twin boys (Muhammad and Bamba) are 11 years old, all musically minded. My daughter (who does not always travel with us) is allergic to cats, so generally can not be in a house with indoor cats, sometimes dogs may be OK. Thanks! We love adventure and are very peaceful, responsible and conscientious of our surroundings. We love to have cultural exchange. We are very conscientious to take care of other peoples property and keep it clean and tidy. Home owner comments:

"We are glad you enjoyed our place. My husband and I thought the house looked cleaner than ever when we returned, and apparently Anny, our helper was most impressed!" Singapore (Singapore August 2011)
