My house is a 10 to 15 minute taxi ride from the international airport at Denpasar which costs around $7 USD.
A 10 minute walk to the beach, 5 minute walk to some of the best shopping in Bali, 5 minute drive to the best restaurants. Local restaurants are just around the corner. It's all here.

Seminyak is a sought after location in Bali if you want to be in the centre of things. My house is situated in a village type environment, but close to everything. It is in a busy locale, but the house is located in a quiet area off the main roads.
If you enjoy sunset drinks and dining out then this is definitely where you want to be. Seminyak has the most wonderful places to watch the sunset and after that perhaps you can go to one of the fabulous restaurants in the area: Indonesia, Italian, Greek, Japanese, Seafood, Moroccan, Malaysian, International, Korean, French, they are all here and wonderful. If your budget is tight you can always go to one of the local Warungs (restaurants) in the neighbourhood and indulge in the local food with the locals for 50c to $1.
Taxis are super affordable here and only a phone call or short walk away. You could also get yourself a car and driver should you prefer. A motorbike perhaps? Tours are easily organised and everyone is helpful.
You can always also pop over to one of the other islands for a few days (there are over 17,000 islands in the Indonesian Archipelago after all!) as flights are very affordable.
If you want to be self indulgent then this is the place to be. There are loads of spas close by if you feel like a massage, facial, manicure/pedicure, reflexology, mandi lulur, you name it you can have it.
