Combine the immediate proximity to busy Paris with the tranquility of a former Parisian river getaway!

We love our house that we built in 2006. On the main floor of our modern town home (144 sq. mt/1500 sq. ft), you will find a spacious living room with hardwood floors and open fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen, full bathroom, and an office. The large living room doors give access to the deck and the 80 sq. mt. protected garden with its sunny and shaded areas.

Upstairs is the master bedroom and three kids' rooms (each comfortably sleeping two persons) and a bathroom with shower and a separate toilet.

Amenities include a 42" TV, high-end stereo, an e-piano, cross trainer, automatic espresso machine, wireless high-speed internet, and Apple computers for your use. The 5- and 7-seater Toyotas are in the garage -- we are prepared to exchange them, too. No need to worry much about cleaning -- our cleaning person visits once or twice a week if you like.

Our house is in a very quiet street, but only 100 meters/yards away from the center of Le Perreux-sur-Marne, a picturesque, quiet, safe little town only 15 minutes/8 miles by car from the center of Paris, which you can also reach by a 20-minute direct 'RER' train connection after a short walk through our local 'Parc'.

Only steps away from the house is the local farmer's market, where you can buy fresh produce, cheese, fish, and meat three times a week. Around the market you find bakeries, small supermarkets, and other small shops with everything you need during your visit. The beautiful Marne riverside is within 5-minute walking distance. Ride a boat or do endless walks/jogging, or use our bikes for an excursion along the river. The numerous restaurants and "Guinguettes" (river dance bistros typical for the Marne river) offer relaxing alternatives to the Parisian nightlife.

If you stay in our house, we will share with you a number of resources for an exciting stay, and hopefully, also our enjoyable feeling of being "at home in Paris".

We are also open to "hospitality" exchanges.

We are specifically looking to spend a week in late October (between Oct. 19 and 31) and for New Year's (Dec. 28–Jan. 5, 2014).

Petra (49) is a sales manager for a German company, and Benno (48) leads a research group at a renowned French biomedical research institute. Our kids (Nora, 8, Mickaël, 15, and Frédérik, 17) will treat your house with respect – all of us are non-smokers (but you're welcome to smoke on the deck). Our two gentle Korat cats who stay with our house have become best friends with our previous home exchange friends!
