Ours is a comfortable big and well located home. Originally built in the 80's in what was a new development area for my home village of Subbiano, we purchased in 2010 and went through a deep restoration including special insulation, windows, shutters, electrincs and plumbing and internal fitting to achieve a modern lifestyle comfortable environment.

The plot is almost square with a surface of 9000sq ft, fully fenced and leveled. The access to the property is through a limited car trafic area with a remote control car gate and a pedestrian smaller gate. Another large gate is on the east side. The garden has been replanted in summer 2012 and has automatic watering. The house is alarmed if you want extra safety (we never turn it on): it works even if you leave windows in vasistas position to get fresh air at night.

The ground floor (F1) is separated from the living level of the house: we wanted it separate to either guest someone with a degree of freedom or as a party place that would not affect cleaniness order and privacy of the main flat. The total surface of F1 is 2000sq ft and includes a main room with fireplace, a store room, a bigger store room and a toilet.

The ground floor also includes a garage for 1 car, that we mostly use as store roome for kids stuff, and a room with the heating burner and centralized watering system.

Access to the home where we live is from ground floor where you meet a room for the coats and shoes. A big stair then brings you to the First Floor (F2) where is the apartment of 230sq ft.

The living room is very spacious with a dining table, a big sofa, fireplace, 50" FullHD screen with satellite bluray and home theatre Polkaudio. The fireplace is glass protected and has a vent to push warm air into the room.

The kitchen is open space with the living room, in a modern design and peninsula layout. A dining table for 6 plus a breakfast high deck for 4. Cookers are gas powered with 5 points, dishwasher, oven, refrigerator with freezer, microwave oven and many other items for a kitchen.

There are 2 balconies at F2: one is very big accessible from living room, bathroom and master bedroom, the other one from the kitchen and serves as extra workplace with an external water sink.

The corridor is separated with a door from the kitchen and , right to left you have access to: play room, 2 beds bedroom, 1 bed bedroom, smaller bathroom, master bedroom with ensuite, bigger bathroom.

Overall, this is a roomy home, with plenty of space to enjoy in a family of 5 and even more. You can have breakfast altogether, lunch and dinners on every day life. You can also arrange for a BBQ that here we do with real logs: we always keep a stock of timber and you can use the fireplace during winter or a mobile bbq outside in the garden.

Our home is located in Subbiano, a village of 5000 inhabitants where most everybody knows everybody else. The village is not built in neighborhoods being itself a neighborhood in itself... our area of half a square mile is specifically called 'Poderino'.

Subbiano is extremely safe: i can leave keys of my car in the car when i park around Subbiano... we simply dont do for habits of parking elsewherel. You can walk around totally safe.

When you will go around Subbiano very soon people will be familiar to you: we get one day tourists over here, so seeing foreigners for some days in a row will raise people interest and friendship. Also, we're known in the area so you will spend our name and hopefully you will get extra hospitality.

From our home you can walk to all needs within the Subbiano village plus to the railway station, to reach historical city of Arezzo in 10minutes and from there Florence in less than an hour and Rome in 1hr fast train (or even Pisa 2hr, Bologna 1hr30min, Milan 2hr30min).
We can car exchange Elisa's car, a 5+2 seater Citroen C4, a very low consumption - low emission diesel car, with automatic. From Subbiano you have so much to visit and enjoy, whichever month you visit this area:

Subbiano.
Walking distance to the center of the village with bars (in italian 'bar' means a place where you have breakfast as cappuccino and pastry), Subbiano hosts a XII century castel build by the Longobardi, a barbar population coming from north. I love walking around Subbiano because it's historic and deeply authentic.

Casentino.
it is the valley north of Arezzo where Subbiano is located. It includes:
Poppi with the important middle age Castle and the plain of Campaldino where Florence beate Arezzo army.
Camaldoli with the monks and the typical pharmacy
Parco Nazionale, amazing forest
La Verna, where San Francesco from Assisi did walk from Assisi every year
Bibbiena, a lovely place to walk around and dine out.

Arezzo,
middle age town with so much art. Did you know that the pentagram to write music was first introduced by monk Guido Monaco from Arezzo? And what about the first paint with the application of perspective, Piero Della Francesca?
By the way, Oscar movie winner directed by Roberto Benigni 'La Vita è Bella' 'Life is Beautiful' was entirely moved in Arezzo: you will enjoy re discovering the spots of such a hearth touching movie.
Arezzo hosts an Antique fair world famous the weekend of every first Sunday of each month.
The city is the world spot for Gold jewelry and bracelets manufacturing: at its peak, the province of a little city of 100.000 inhabitants did guest 5000+ companies handling gold. If you are the type liking gold, we will address you to some shops and factories accepting end users.

Chianti,
from Arezzo towards Siena in a range of 1hr drive you can spend so many days out wine tasting and discovery the culture of wine and food we have around here. I will recommend many places in the south of Siena wine areas.

Siena area.
The city of Siena is 1hr drive or bus from Subbiano. You know about Siena but around Siena, using our car, you can go to many other smaller spots, like San Gimignano, Radda, Volterra and many more.

Tuscan seaside,
with cliff locations and sandy locations. Fantastic for either days out, weekends or week: from the locations of Castiglioni della Pescaia, to Viareggio to the Tuscan Arcipelago with the amazing islands of Elba, Giglio, Giannutri, Capraia, to mention those most visited.

Florence and Rome require no introduction from me,

Shopping,
for us Italians the perfect shopping is walking in a historic center of a town and browse around shops of every kind. Arezzo has many of them.
You may not know that some famous brands are linked to our city: Prada, for example, is from Arezzo, Gucci from Florence. There is a Mall with so many fashion brands nearby if you may enjoy: it's all about top brands, people say you can buy at good prices there, but the price is still high! (www.themall.it)

Dining Out.
This is probably my favourite! Walking distance to our home are 4 very very good spots for eating: so... no drive and lots to drink! I will leave you a long list of my recommended restaurants, for every type of evening budget.

Wine,
it is a big thing in our area. Wine is made in Subbiano, we call it table wine... red and easy to drink a glass daily. You will get so many spots and varieties.

Breaks,
if we will do a long exchange, i may suggest other places in Italy where you could spend a week or two and discover different cultures.

For Summer 2013 we're looking at a long term exchange from early June 2013 to early september 2013.

For other exchanges we are linked to school breaks, so Christmas and Easter will be our recommended days for weeks out.

For Summer 2013, we wanted to go to Southern California, properties between Huntington Beach and Laguna Beach and also inland to the empire centered on Chino Hills.

For other exchanges we consider primarily Uk Cheshire region, centered in Nantwich or more towards Manchester, like Congleton or Peak District or Staffordshire Moorlands.

For Christams, Easter and other breaks we would consider anywhere. We love travelling.

We're a young family with three kids.
I am Andrea, the dad, i am 37, i am graduated in Economics. I work for our family business manufacturing store fixtures. I travel international twice of three times every month and i love seeing various parts of this world.
Elisa, my wife, is 31, works for our same family business but her main mission is obviously taking daily care of our three beautiful kids.
Edoardo is 6 and started school this year. he's very active and funny.
Amedeo is 4, still at kindergarten every day, and he's totally different character to Eddie.
Alberto, born july 2012, has been very welcome by both his brother and he's as cute as one can be.
