a) Cannes
Cannes is approximately 30 kilometres east of Nice It is famous for its film
festival in May that attracts top stars, as well as for its luxury shops on ‘la
Croisette’, the wide boulevard along the sea. Aside from its bustling summer
season, it’s a quaint town known for its shopping and night-life, boasting a
castle and several museums.
Nearby, St. Marguerite Island and St. Honorat Island make up the Lerins
Islands, to which ferries run regularly from Cannes and Juan les Pins. The flora
on the islands is protected and St. Marguerite Island has a fort and a historic
prison while St. Honorat Island has an ancient monastery.

c) Mougins
Mougins is a village that awakens the senses and is synonymous with
pleasure: the pleasure of tradition, the pleasure of gastronomic delights, the
pleasure of a golfing destination of exceptional quality, the pleasure of the arts
with artists' studios, galleries and museums.
d) Valbonne
Valbonne is the home of the Sophia Antipolis science park, Europe's leading
technology centre, but has at the same time managed to cultivate the charm
and authenticity of the magnificently preserved old village of Valbonne. With its
heritage of Romanesque and monastic architecture and its futuristic buildings,
this commune boasts a great deal of diversity.
f) Antibes – Juan les Pins
Antibes and Juan les Pins are both Mediterranean towns and although they are
side by side, they have very different characteristics.
Antibes has great views of the sea, the old town and a section of the Alps in
the background. It is calm and a typical French ‘Provencal’ town.
On the other hand, Juan les Pins is the place to be during the summer, with a
busy nightlife and fashionable bars and clubs. However, as it is the low season
for tourists, there are fewer activities during the winter period.
g) Vence - Saint Paul de Vence
Perched on rock, Vence and Saint Paul de Vence are essentially medieval
towns with cobblestone streets and many artistic boutiques. They are known
for their fortifications and Saint Paul de Vence is also the burial place of Marc
Chagall, the painter. Finally, there is a beautiful and simply decorated chapel a
few kilometres away that was designed by the renowned painter Henri Matisse.

h) Monaco
Situated on the Cote d'Azur between Cap d'Ail and Menton, just a few
kilometers from the Italian Riviera, Monaco is one of those magic, glamorous
places that has a world-wide reputation. Monaco is a sovereign state,
independent and prosperous. It has its own government and the head of state
is His Highness Prince Albert.
There is no doubt that Monaco has a privileged location. This tiny capital
(1,95km) with a soaring economy, is built against the mountains (Monaco is
nicknamed "The Rock"), and spreads down to the shores of the Riviera. 31
hectares have been added to Monaco's surface by building several sky
scrapers right on the water.
There is sun here almost all the time, and fabulous parks and gardens have
been laid out throughout the city. There are sumptuous boutiques with the
latest fashions, palatial luxury hotels, and very chic restaurants. The cultural
and sports centres are fitted out to perfection. Everywhere you look there are
long limousines gliding or little Porsches zipping, around the famous curves of
Monte Carlo. This is Monaco.

i) Menton
Menton is known in France for its unusually warm climate. Due to this, the city
offers its visitors magnificent gardens and an amazing array of beautiful fruits
and vegetables. Its agricultural prowess is demonstrated each year with its
Lemon Festival every February.
