My home is Surrounded by a wildlife reserve, close to parks, hiking & bike trails. From the spacious terrace, view limestone caves, the Sand Canyon Reservior, and the Strawberry Farms Golf Course. After an exciting day visiting nearby Laguna Beach, Crystal Cove State Park, or surfing at Newport Beach, return to a a home that is quiet oasis with french doors opening onto a large private patio. Enjoy sunshine, trees, lounge chairs, bar-be-que, and sweeping views of Sand Canyon. A refreshing swim in the private member pool with jacuzzi, dressing rooms,is just steps away. The walled courtyard at the entrance of my home is a quiet place to read. The only distractions are the hummingbirds, & yellow finches bathing in the fountain.
Recently renovated with a designer kitchen, & bathrooms, The large master suite has a queen size bed & private bath with a huge soaking tub with views of the hills. The other two bedrooms/study have a queen, and a double bed respectively.
I would describe my home as an exquisite, tranquil oasis for those wanting to relax, swim, hike and bike. Add to this the close proximity to sandy beaches, Disneyland, plus all of the varied and exciting activities the Southern California scene can offer to the adventuous traveler, and you have a recipe for the vacation of a lifetime.

An anthropologist told me that the limestone caves across the canyon once served as a summer gathering place for the Gabrielino Indians. We have hiked to the caves often, and collected sea shells, and arrowheads. Although, the evidence appears to support the presence of Native American hunters and gatherers in the area; nowadays, the only primitive, behavior observed in the canyon, is that of golfers venting their frustrations at the 18th hole of the Strawberry Farms Golf Course.
We love to walk to the park, stroll along the stream, & tour the Turtle Rock Nature Center, then head off to Shady canyon where hiking and biking trails and spectacular views extend for miles into the hills. Another challenging hike ends at Tanaka Farms, with opportunities to sample sun warmed strawberries and purchase local produce. If you are a foodie, and want to partake of local fare, a street fair with a variety of delicacies takes place every weekend near my home.
Thus far, I have concentrated on neighborhood adventures. I wanted you to know that for the travel weary in need of a few "down days" to recuperate, there are many rich and varied activities right in our backyard.
For those who like to hit the ground running, take the "Surf Rider" train south to San Diego. The Surf-rider makes many stops, but my favorite is San Juan Capistrano with its exquisite Mission and horse drawn carriages. Take the train north into Los Angeles to Alvera Street, a Mexican pueblo, complete with Mariachis, shopping, and delicious Mexican food. I highly recommend a day on Balboa Island, just a few miles from away. The car ferry takes you to Lido Island for a boat ride to Catalina Island, or stay on Lido Island, and arrange for a kayak tour, or hire a gondola to cruise the canals of the Newport Beach harbor... The possibilities are endless.
As a traveler, you will have access to many excellent guide books . However, as a resident, I have a few treasured experiences which I feel you must not miss; Rodeo Drive, in Beverly HIlls, Javier's restaurant in Crystal Cove, when the bells start ringing, when whales are cruising by. The Wildlife Animal park near San Diego where you can ride a zip line over "Africa", pet a rhino, and feed a giraffe.
