Fully safety fence pool. The fence is very easy to use. Behind is a very large yard.

This is a newly remodeled 4 bedroom, 3 bath home on 1.5 acres in the Fort Lauderdale suburb of Davie, Florida. Outside, is an in ground pool which is swimable year round, hammocks for relaxing in the shade, butterfly gardens, a sandbox and toys. We back up to a large park offering nature trails, horseback riding, canoeing and playgrounds.
Inside is a custom kitchen with everything you need to host a party of 50 (which we often do when we are in town). If cooking is not your thing we have great take out nearby! The master bedroom has a king size bed and overlooks the pool through the closet/sitting room. It also has a large custom marble bath with a whirlpool tub and a separate steam shower. The second bedroom overlooks the pool garden and also has a king bed and private bathroom. The additional 2 bedrooms have a twin bunkbed in one and a crib and full sized futon in the other. The additional bath includes a shower. I also have a tall queen air mattress if more beds are needed. There are baby needs and a variety kid and grown up toys, games and books.
We are typically in the house from mid November through February, plus an additional week here and there. Therefore, the home is available most of the time or for longer term stays. When we are here we have a maid service, so I could arrange for her to come as needed. We will leave behind a car (Audi TT - two seater) which could be made available. It is ABSOLUTELY a no smoking house but there are 2 covered patios that are easily accessed and can be used in any weather.

Davie is a quiet estate home town in the center of everything Fort Lauderdale has to offer. We are between 15-30 minutes from the airport, the beach, the everglades, outlet and upscale shopping, the Seminole Hard Rock casino, Port Everglades, top spas, casual and gourmet dining, universities, museums, other entertainment and more. The closest grocery is less than 1 mile, Target (large store with everything) is 2 miles, organic grocery and large malls are less than 5 miles. We are 3 1/2 hours from Disney and the Orlando area.
This is a very queit and private neighborhood as it contains only 3 streets, each with about 10 homes. It is cut out of a corner of a large nature/horse/play park and the home has direct access to the park, with a large playground right next to our gate. On the other side of the neighborhood is a community center with tennis, gym, and more. It is a very quiet professional neighborhood and most people have horses and other animals. Our animals are in NJ so you are welcome to bring yours. It is a great place to relax and get away from it all but still be very close to fantastic beaches, restaurants, entertainment, and more.

The Florida house is available most of the time so our exchanges do not need to be simultaneous. My oldest is in school so we can travel on longer trips only in the summer. I am not yet willing to do an extremely long trip yet with the girls (Asia, Australia, etc) but hope to spend each summer until they are grown traveling so that they can see the world.

My name is Sara and my education and professional background is in environmental education. Since having our 2 girls (5 and 2) I have been home with them and do some technical writing. My husband, Don, owns a software company. He travels most of the time and we tag along as much as possible. I grew up on a horse farm but traded in the horses for the girls. We still have dogs and cats at our house in NJ. Our oldest daughter Jackie likes flowers and princesses and the youngest likes to do her best to keep up with her big sister. We like animals, scuba, skiing, hiking, travel, good food, theater, nature and new experiences.
We have lived in this house for the last 15 years but recently moved to NJ to be closer to the majority of my husband's customers and family. We decided to keep the house as there is nowhere better than South Florida in February when you are having a blizzard! Also, the home office and majority of employees will stay in S. Florida permanently so we need to maintain a place here.
When we travel I try to avoid regular hotels where we are cramped and don’t get a true feel for the place we are visiting. This is what makes home exchange great for us. For long distance trip I like to do a week minimum so the kids have time to get acclimated and we still get to see your home town. Occasionally, one of our mothers or possibly a nanny might travel with us.
We have done one formal exchange and have had many (10 ) families, both friends and strangers, either live with us or borrow the house for extended periods. We have also rented many vacation homes. Both ways have always worked quite well and we have never had any problems.
